Sao Paulo and Rio in race to host Brazilian Grand Prix

Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro have entered a fierce competition over who will host the 2020 Brazilian Grand Prix after President Jair Bolsonaro this week unexpectedly announced the race would go back to Rio. Two days after Bolsonaro's comments, state and city officials in Sao Paulo – where the race is currently held – published a statement Friday stressing that they had a valid contract with the organization until December 2020 and would fight to renew it after that.
