Fernando Alonso misses full day of Indy practice with car problems

Fernando Alonso was forced to sit inside the McLaren garage for the duration on Thursday practice as the car needed some "extra TLC" following Alonso's huge crash. When they finally prepared the car, rain hit the track and ended running for all. Alonso has recorded just 96 laps in practice, but the Spaniard does have another day in hand before qualifying begins. Zak Brown was on hand to discuss why McLaren struggled to run. "It's definitely slow going. We had to borrow pieces from one car and move them to the other car, bring in bits from an outside location, change the engine," Brown said in an interview on PlanetF1.
