Niki Lauda, 3 time F1 World Champion, has died aged 70

Niki Lauda, the three time Formula 1 World Champion, has died at the age of 70 after battling health problems in recent months. Niki Lauda has passed away at the age of 70. He had been battling numerous health issues in recent months, having fallen ill with influenza immediately prior to last year's German Grand Prix. He required a lung transplant at that time, with complications having arisen due to his lungs being badly damaged in his famous 1976 Nurburgring crash. While battling for that year's F1 World Championship with McLaren's James Hunt, Lauda lost control of his Ferrari and crashed. His car caught fire and Lauda was badly burned as a result.
