Rio de Janeiro track layout revealed as city bids to host Formula 1

The proposed layout for the new Rio de Janeiro-based circuit has been revealed as the city bids to replace Sao Paulo as the host of the Brazilian Formula 1 race. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro recently stated that Rio would host the race from 2020 onwards at a new purpose-built facility on the site of a disused military base. Although the date seems unlikely given Sao Paulo's Interlagos track has a contract for next season, the race could well happen in 2021 if construction goes ahead as planned.
