Raikkonen says two-year break from F1 is 'crucial' to a long career
Kimi Raikkonen doubts he would still be in Formula 1 right now if he hadn't have taken a two-year break from the sport back in 2010 and 2011. Raikkonen raced in his 300th grand prix last weekend in Monaco - becoming just the fifth driver to do so in F1 history - and the Finn is set to be second to only Rubens Barrichello for entries by the end of the campaign. The 39-year-old made his F1 debut back in 2001 for Sauber, but he took a two-year break from the competition after leaving Ferrari at the end of the 2009 season, spending time in other forms of motorsport, such as rally-car driving.
