Wolff speaks out against new parc ferme rules

Mercedes principal Toto Wolff has warned that new parc ferme rule plans to stop teams changing car parts over the weekend would be a bad idea. Among the many agendas on the table as part of the 2021 Formula 1 overhaul is an idea to shift Friday's two practice sessions to later in the day, meaning pre-race parc ferme conditions would begin before practice and teams would be unable to make serious changes after heading onto the track. Wolff has warned that this would only increase the costs for teams, feeling they would be forced to increase their simulation work.
