Todt: 'We need time to set up good rules for 2021'

The rules for 2021 are still in progress with a new delay set to last until October. It's unsure on the exact cause of the delay, but Jean Todt says they need time to produce the best rules. Engine manufacturers are happy to keep their regulations the same with Ferrari and Mercedes ahead and Renault and Honda pumping in lots of money over recent seasons. All four parties, therefore, benefit from the same regulations. Lower-level teams would like to see a budget cap added in, but that would be a problem to the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari. Toto Wolff, for example, indicated earlier that it would be wise to keep regulations the same for as long as possible, instead of changing every time....
