Sirotkin to be reserve for McLaren and Renault

McLaren have confirmed that Sergey Sirotkin will be their reserve driver this season, a role the Russian will dovetail also as Renault reserve. Sirotkin raced for Williams last year and impressed as a rookie despite the woeful car he had to drive, but his backers had no faith in the future of the beleaguered Grove outfit and decided to remove their driver from the programme. He has since joined SMP Racing in the World Endurance Championship.
