FIA reject Ferrari's request for review due to lack of new evidence

French Grand Prix – The FIA has rejected Ferrari's request for a review of the penalty that prevented Sebastian Vettel from taking victory in Canada two weeks ago. After deciding against appealing the decision of the race stewards in Canada to impose a five second time penalty for rejoining the track in an unsafe manner, Ferrari instead chose to request a right of review from the governing body the FIA. This meant they had to present some ‘significant or relevant' new evidence to the FIA before this Sunday, with the FIA then deciding whether Ferrari had some legitimate grounds to proceed with a full review.
