Masi to continue as F1 race director until end of 2019

Michael Masi will continue in his role as the FIA’s race director until the end of the 2019 Formula 1 season. The former Supercars official worked as a deputy race director under Charlie Whiting until his shock death on the eve of the 2019 season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Masi took over the role initially in a caretaker capacity following Whiting’s passing and has filled the three positions of race director, permanent starter, and safety delegate at each of the 10 grands prix so far this year.
