Alexander Albon: Toro Rosso renewal, not Red Bull seat, the aim

Alexander Albon says his main focus is on retaining his Toro Rosso seat, rather than allowing any thoughts of being able to step up to Red Bull for 2020. Albon made his Formula 1 debut with Toro Rosso this season, having been extricated from a Nissan Formula E deal, as a replacement for Brendon Hartley. Hartley’s 2018 team-mate Pierre Gasly was promoted to Red Bull in place of Renault-bound Daniel Ricciardo, but has so far endured a difficult campaign, prompting suggestions he could be replaced for 2020.
