Gasly learned of demotion after early morning phone call

Belgian Grand Prix – Pierre Gasly says he was told about his demotion from Red Bull to Toro Rosso via an early morning phone call from Helmut Marko. Over the summer break, Pierre Gasly was demoted from Red Bull Racing to Toro Rosso after a string of races in which he failed to ever come close to matching the performance of teammate Max Verstappen. With Gasly now in the Toro Rosso in place of Alex Albon, who takes the Frenchman's seat, Gasly explained how he found out about the change: 'I found out one morning that it had been decided.
