Kubica gets new engine after eight races with old spec

Russian Grand Prix – Williams' Robert Kubica races this weekend in Russia with a brand new Spec 3 Mercedes power unit, replacing his well-used old one. Robert Kubica's Williams has been fitted out with a new Spec 3 Mercedes power unit for the weekend at the Sochi Autodrom in Russia. The Polish driver gets this unit as a replacement for the Spec 2 unit he has used for eight races so far this season, including the high power demand circuits Spa-Francorchamps and Monza. Kubica had been fitted out with a brand new Spec 3 for the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of August, but this engine suffered a massive failure during practice.
