Correa facing lengthy surgery as lungs improve

An update from the Correa family says that Juan Manuel has opted for lengthy surgery on his leg rather than reconstructive amputation. Juan Manuel Correa continues to recover in hospital, four weeks on from the calamitous crash that caused him serious injury and claimed the life of 22 year old French driver Anthoine Hubert. Correa was initially placed into an induced coma in order to allow his lungs to repair and, with his ability to breathe by himself returning last week, he has been transferred to a specialist orthopaedic hospital in order to begin fixing his serious leg injuries.
