Alexander Albon to start Russian GP from pit lane

Alexander Albon is to start the Russian Grand Prix from the pit lane after Red Bull elected to make parc ferme changes overnight. Albon crashed through Turn 13 during Q1 and was due to start from 18th on the grid, ahead only of Robert Kubica and Daniil Kvyat, who have taken engine penalties. Red Bull has equipped Albon’s RB15 with a different specification floor to the one that he utilised during qualifying, meaning he must start from the pit lane. Red Bull has also taken the opportunity to fit Albon’s car with a new Turbocharger, MGU-H, MGU-K and gearbox, with those penalties having no impact on his start position.
