Rain stops play at Pirelli test in France

The first day of a two day Pirelli test at Paul Ricard had to be cut short due to wet conditions at the circuit on Thursday. Pirelli have had to curtail the first day of a two day test at the Paul Ricard in the south of France. McLaren are scheduled to complete a two day run on the new 18 inch tyre compounds, and Carlos Sainz was at the wheel of the MCL34 with the bigger wheels on Wednesday. The test is only slick tyre testing for now, meaning that when inclement weather struck the track, it restricted track running to a grand total of just 39 laps by the close of business.
