Mercedes set to pay record entry fees to race in Formula 1 in 2020
Mercedes are set to pay a record-high registration fee for the 2020 Formula 1 season. By winning their sixth consecutive driver's and constructor's world champions, the German teams' fees to race have increased dramatically. Mercedes scored a total of 739 points during the 2019 season which is the team's second-best total score after the 765 record points accumulated in 2016. In order to be allowed to race in Formula 1, teams are required to pay an entry fee. All teams must pay a fixed registration fee of $ 556,509 (€ 501,212) and an additional fee for each point earned the previous season.
