Dakar Day 7: Portuguese rider killed as rally resumes

The 2020 Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia has been rocked by the tragic news that Portuguese rider Paulo Gonçalves (pictured above) succumbed to injuries sustained in a fall sustained 276 kilometres into today's special stage. The Dakar officials reported: 'The organisers received an alert at 10:08 (0708 GMT) and dispatched a medical helicopter that reached the biker at 10:16 and found him unconscious after going into cardiac arrest.
