Tost said Alex Albon could be “surprise of the year” during 2019 winter testing
Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost has said that he believed Alex Albon could have been the “surprise of the year” during winter testing in Barcelona before the 2019 Formula 1 season. Before being called up to drive for Toro Rosso for 2019 Albon had originally signed to drive in the 2018-19 Formula E season. Twelve months later and the Thai-British driver has been promoted to a seat at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, making a switch with Pierre Gasly mid-way through last year.
