Mitch Evans beats Guenther to Santiago pole
Mitch Evans will start on pole for the Santiago E Prix as he beat out Maximilian Guenther to take top spot in the first qualifying of 2020. Evans, who won one race in the 2018/19 season, won his place in the battle for Super Pole with a time of 1m 04.941s and then beat the likes of Guenther and Felipe Massa with a time of 1m 04.827s in the top six battle. Guenther will join the driver from New Zealand on the front row after he missed out by 0.275 seconds. 2018/19 Formula E champion, Jean-Eric Vergne will start down in 11th place.
