Former Ferrari sporting director explains why Vettel contract delays make sense
Sebastian Vettel will hope 2020 pans out better than 2019 and that he can earn himself a new contract. Former Ferrari sporting director Cesare Fiorio has explained why contract talks between Ferrari and the German have stalled. Vettel had a tough season in 2019, winning only one race in Singapore, and was beaten in the Drivers' Championship by his Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc. The German was also embroiled in several controversies throughout the season and caused both himself and Leclerc to retire from the Brazilian Grand Prix.
