The first test ends with a Mercedes 1-2 even as Ferrari hit trouble

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team ended the final day of the first pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain with a Valtteri Bottas led 1-2 on the time charts. The Scuderia Ferrari team was responsible for one of the four red flags on the final day of the first test. Sebastian Vettel stopped on the track due to a Power Unit (PU) failure in the morning session. Vettel was back on the track after a change of engines and the Italian team managed only ninety-nine laps for the whole day and thirteenth position on the time charts.
