‘Renault and McLaren could protest Racing Point RP20'

Renault and McLaren, Racing Point's two biggest rivals for best of the rest in the championship, could protest the RP20 come the season-opening Australian GP. Racing Point unveiled its pink Mercedes at the start of pre-season testing. The new car not only features a similar nose, front wing, airbox and rear wing to the current Mercedes W11 but it also has last year's sidepods. The car, which is powered by a Mercedes engine and also uses the Brackley team's gearbox, was developed in the Mercedes wind tunnel. Racing Point has defended the RP20's design. Tech boss Andy Green told Auto Bild Motorsport: 'Should we take a look at a worse car? It makes sense that we look at the World Champion....
