Bahrain Grand Prix to be held behind closed doors because of coronavirus
The Bahrain Grand Prix, due to take place from 20-22 March, will be a "participants-only event" because of the coronavirus outbreak. Organisers said allowing spectators at the event "would not be the right thing to do". Last month, the Chinese Grand Prix, scheduled for 19 April, was postponed because of virus fears. "Balancing the welfare of supporters and race goers is a tremendous responsibility," organisers said. "Given the continued spread of Covid-19 globally, convening a major sporting event, which is open to the public and allows thousands of international travellers and local fans to interact in close proximity, would not be the right thing to do...
