FIA: 'Driving 100 percent on sustainable fuel in F1 as early as 2023'

The FIA has long had the objective of making Formula 1 more energy neutral. Now it seems that there is more and more a concrete plan to achieve that goal. A first realistic step would be to run the F1 cars on sustainable fuel. Technical director of the FIA Gilles Simon even expects F1 cars to run on 100 percent sustainable fuel by 2023. "Our goal is to keep the fuel companies at Formula 1, they too must want to support the plan. That's why we want to allow them to take their own path.
