'Detoxed and serene' Alonso ready to return to F1 - Briatore

Fernando Alonso's year away from Formula 1 has "detoxed" the Spaniard who is now ready to return to Grand Prix racing according to his manager Flavio Briatore. Alonso recently said that he was in the process of defining his 2021 schedule, insisting that F1 was not among his plans. But last week's raft of announcements, which included the news of Daniel Ricciardo moving from Renault to McLaren, has opened up an unexpected opportunity for Alonso to return to the French outfit with which he conquered his two world titles in 2005 and 2006.
