Leclerc: I will not take the knee

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc will not take a knee before the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday, but says he remains committed to the fight against racism. A move that has been mooted among the drivers in the lead-up to the race, ‘taking a knee' during the national anthem is seen as one way to protest racial injustice. Introduced several years ago by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, the gesture has seen increased usage in the wake of the recent ‘Black Lives Matter' movement, but Leclerc has indicated he will look for other ways to show his support.
