Italian GP organisers confirm F1 race will take place with no spectators

The Italian Grand Prix will be held behind closed doors, organisers have confirmed, meaning no spectators will be allowed access to the Formula 1 race. This reflects the same policy for the opening three races of the season and the next handful of races in Britain, Spain and Belgium. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Formula 1 has been forced to implement strict safety protocols in order to satisfy local governments that it is safe to host a race weekend, with many governments stipulating that large gatherings are prohibited.
