Russell hit with five-place grid drop for home grand prix

George Russell has been handed a five-place grid penalty for the British Grand Prix that will see him now drop to the back of the field. Russell produced another superb performance for Williams in escaping Q1 for the third consecutive race, and was poised to start his home race from 15th. Article continues under video But he was caught avoiding double yellow flags at the end of Q1, ironically after team-mate Nicholas Latifi spun off the track. The penalty will now see Russell start from 20th and last, alongside Latifi on the back row.
