Hamilton eyeing ‘incredible' Silverstone double

Lewis Hamilton is firmly on course for the “incredible accomplishment” of Silverstone victories on back-to-back weekends after topping the FP2 timesheets for the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. The World Champion and his Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas were again in a class of their own as no other driver got within half a second of their fastest laps during either of the two Friday practice sessions. In the British Grand Prix, Hamilton limped over the line to win after suffering a puncture on the final lap. A similar incident moments earlier had forced Bottas into the pits, dropping him to P11.
