McLaren interested in signing Perez to IndyCar programme

McLaren CEO Zak Brown says Sergio Perez would be of interest to its IndyCar outfit if the Mexican doesn’t land a 2021 seat in Formula 1. Earlier this week Perez announced that he would be leaving Racing Point at the end of the 2020 season. Only Ferrari customer teams Alfa Romeo and Haas are realistic destinations for the eight-time podium finisher. However, should he fail to reach a deal to remain in F1, the Mexican will be forced to look elsewhere for a racing seat, with IndyCar being tipped as a potential destination.
