Early outage for Verstappen ensures low number of television viewers in Mugello

The Grand Prix of Mugello was not viewed very well at Ziggo Sport last weekend. Where last week about 1.3 million people tuned in to Formula 1, that number was a lot lower on Sunday.  Approximately 798,000 people saw a spectacle in Italy with two red flags and several restarts because of heavy hits. This is shown by figures from Stichting Kijkonderzoek. Is Verstappen the cause? The fact that there were fewer viewers probably has to do with the fact that Max Verstappen was already out of the race after the very first corner. Many fans will have shifted away and not made it to the end of the race. By the way, for the 22-year old Dutchman, it was his third retirement in nine Grands Prix.
