Sergio Perez will receive the upgrades Lance Stroll's car has been running for the past two races at the Eifel Grand Prix. Racing Point brought considerable updates to the Tuscan Grand Prix, with Stroll handed them. The original plan was for Perez to receive them too for the next race in Russia, but that went out the window when his team-mate crashed and hugely damaged his car during the race at Mugello. As a result of having to do repairs, the team only had enough time to prepare one set of the upgrades, and with Checo leaving at the end of the year, Stroll was again handed them.
