Bottas ends Hamilton's F1 pole run
Valtteri Bottas ended Lewis Hamilton's run of five consecutive F1 pole positions after beating his Mercedes team-mate and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in a tense three-way qualifying fight at the Eifel GP. After winning in Russia two weeks ago, Bottas maintained strong momentum heading into Sunday's race by getting the better of Hamilton and Verstappen by two tenths of second when it mattered most in Q3. The Finn had been adrift of his two rivals in Q2 but has final qualifying lap of 1:25.269 made the difference for his third pole of F1 2020.
