Bottas completes practice sweep as Gasly impresses
Valtteri Bottas completed a clean sweep of practice sessions as he topped Saturday morning’s running for Formula 1’s Portuguese Grand Prix. Bottas clocked a time of 1:16.654s around the Algarve Circuit to finish just 0.026s clear of Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Both Mercedes drivers made mistakes during the session with Bottas aborting an early lap before Hamilton went off through the gravel at Turn 8. Mercedes faced a closer threat from Red Bull with Max Verstappen 0.158s behind Bottas.
