Mercedes will not take revenge on Williams if Russell has to leave
According to the latest rumours, George Russell should be worried about his place at Williams by 2021. However, the 22-year-old Briton is not worried about his future at the race team in Grove. Mercedes also hopes, of course, that Russell will drive for Williams next year, although Toto Wolff says that they have no influence over it. "Williams' new owners want to bring the team forward. This is only possible with good drivers. I would keep Russell in their place," said Wolff, saying the former Formula 2 champion's spot is never completely safe.
