Sole DRS zone for Formula 1's return to Imola

This weekend’s Formula 1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will feature a sole DRS zone along Imola’s main straight. Formula 1 is returning to Imola after a 14-year absence with the circuit a late inclusion on a schedule severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The track has been slightly modified since Formula 1’s most recent visit in 2006 with the Variante Bassa chicane no longer in use. It means drivers will be at full throttle from the exit of Rivazza through to the Tamburello chicane. As at last weekend’s Portuguese Grand Prix only one DRS zone – rather than the two in use at most venues – will be available. The detection point for the DRS zone will be 40 metres after the exit...
