Alonso to perform two-day test in Bahrain next week

Fernando Alonso will get another chance to test Formula 1 machinery when he takes part in a two-day test with Renault in Bahrain next week, it was announced on Friday. Returning to F1 with Renault (to be renamed Alpine) next season, Alonso previously drove the team's 2020 car in a filming day at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya several weeks ago, and will now get a more extensive run-out in a 2018 car. Taking place as part of a wider test for the Renault driver stable, juniors Christian Lundgaard, Guanyu Zhou and Oscar Piastri will all get time behind the wheel before the Spaniard takes over on November 4 and 5.
