FIA to enforce track limits through Bahrain's Turn 8

Track limits through Turn 8 of the Bahrain International Circuit’s Outer Layout will now be monitored, with the FIA acting after Friday’s first practice session. Formula 1 has remained in Bahrain for a second round at the venue but is doing so on the Outer Layout for the first time, which effectively bypasses the middle sector of the grand prix circuit. Several drivers ran wide through the Turn 8 right-hander, which leads drivers onto the penultimate straight of the lap, and were able to improve on their lap times in the opening session. Ahead of Friday’s second session Formula 1’s Race Director Michael Masi has issued revised notes warning drivers of the new rules at the complex....
