Alfa Romeo backs Ferrari to recover ‘large part' of deficit

Alfa Romeo team boss Frederic Vasseur believes Ferrari will recover a “large part” of the power deficit that it encountered during the 2020 season. Ferrari suffered in the power stakes in 2020, following a private settlement with the FIA, and was heavily compromised throughout the season. Ferrari finished only sixth in the standings while customers Alfa Romeo and Haas amassed a mere 11 points between them, classifying eighth and ninth respectively. Ferrari has undertaken development work on its power unit through the winter and has targeted a step forward, having been encouraged by initial feedback from dyno testing.
