Mercedes and Venturi not allowed in Formula E qualifying

Article To news overview © Mercedes Formule E Tough luck for Friday's race winner Nyck de Vries and his Mercedes team as the German outfit, along with Venturi Racing, have been held out of qualifying for the Diriyah E-Prix as the FIA investigates Edoardo Mortara's accident. The Swiss-Italian driver crashed hard into the wall during the third free practice session at high speed after a car failure. Mortara was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for assessment and he is conscious and talking. Given that Venturi Racing are a powertrain customer of Mercedes, the FIA have prevented both teams from taking part in qualifying until the accident is fully investigated.
