Video To news overview Although Mercedes entered the 2018 season having won four world titles in a row, the W09 didn't have as easy of a time as the team's previous entries. The W09 didn't win its first race until the fourth vent of the year in Azerbaijan with Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel winning the first two events followed by Daniel Ricciardo crossing the line first in China. However Mercedes stepped up their game half way through the season, with Ferrari and Vettel's title challenge no match for Hamilton who won six of the final eight races to take home his fifth world title.
