Russell disputes he slapped Bottas after Imola crash

George Russell has disputed the use of the word ‘slap' when people are describing the events of his dramatic crash with Valtteri Bottas at Imola. The events of Sunday's crazy race at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix have started to sink in and a reflective Russell has already issued a heartfelt apology to Valtteri Bottas and his team for his actions and words ‘in the heat of the moment'. After the high-speed crash involving the two rivals for a Mercedes seat in 2022, Russell hopped out of his car and proceeded to approach Bottas who was still sat in his absolutely wrecked W12.
