Schumacher learning on the job: Like driving on ice

Article To news overview © Haas Mick Schumacher experienced his first wet weather Formula 1 race at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, with the German learning first hand how difficult it is to find grip on cold Pirelli tyres. The damp and tricky conditions at Imola caught out a driver or two - Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz and Kimi Raikkonen just to name a few. Schumacher couldn't avoid an off-track excursion either, crashing into the wall and losing his front wing while trying to get his tyres up to temperature behind the safety car.
