Nico Hulkenberg was hoping for a permanent seat in Formula 1 this season, but the German ultimately did not receive a contract offer anywhere. He is therefore currently active as a reserve driver for Mercedes and Aston Martin, but his ambitions reach further than that. In 2022 Hulkenberg wants to return to the grid. Hulkenberg is holding talks with his two current employers, but these are mainly about tasks directly related to his job such as simulator work.
