Alonso sees 'close action' in F1 with new rules, but not in 2022

Fernando Alonso is confident that F1's upcoming regulation overhaul will tighten the field to offer multiple teams a shot at winning races, but the Alpine charger doubts it will happen at the outset in 2022. Formula 1's was initially scheduled to undergo a reset at the start of 2021, but the onslaught of the global Covid-19 pandemic and its financial heavy impact on the sport forced a raft of regulation changes to be delayed by twelve months.
