Rosberg: 'Alonso struggling with the Alpine due to his age'

After a two-year absence, Formula 1 legend Fernando Alonso is back in the premier class of motor sport in 2021. Nevertheless, his return has been harder than both the driver and the fans had hoped for. Former driver Nico Rosberg points to the driver's age as part of the reason. "The Alpine is a difficult car to drive and Alonso is not enjoying it", Rosberg said to Sky Sports, for whom he is a regular pundit. The former Mercedes driver sees a similarity between Alonso's situation at Alpine and the difficulty Michael Schumacher sometimes experienced at Mercedes after his return to the sport.
