W Series announce huge 175-nation TV deal

W Series has announced further broadcast deals that will enable them to reach 500 million viewers around the world, in its status as a Formula 1 support race this season. This news comes after a landmark free-to-air deal with Channel 4 in the UK, with the new agreement expanding the potential audience of the all-female single-seater series to 175 countries and territories around the world. Eight rounds of the series are due to take place in 2021 and, having been scheduled to open the season in France, they have since delayed their curtain-raiser to feature in Austria on 26 June instead after the French Grand Prix was brought forward by a week.
