Ocon off the market as he extends deal with Alpine
Article To news overview © Alpine Esteban Ocon will stay with the Alpine team for 2022, as the French driver has extended his deal with his current team. The announcement was made ahead of his, and the team's, home race at Paul Ricard this weekend. Ocon was a shoe-in for a possible switch to Mercedes for next season as a replacement for Valtteri Bottas, due to his links with Mercedes' Toto Wolff. However, after impressing against veteran teammate Fernando Alonso in the opening six races of 2021, Ocon has signed a deal to stay with the team for next year and through until 2024 on a long-term stay.
