Wolff on Bottas: ‘Finally he starts to criticise!'
Toto Wolff voiced his joy at Valtteri Bottas 'finally letting it out' after an incorrect strategy call cost him a podium at the French Grand Prix. Mercedes were caught out as Max Verstappen returned the approach the Silver Arrows had used to overhaul him in Barcelona – switching to an extra pit stop for Lewis Hamilton, who went on to take victory. The World Championship leader managed to reel in both Bottas and Hamilton, taking the lead on the penultimate lap to extend his advantage at the top of the standings. Things went from bad to worse for the Finn, however, after Sergio Perez managed to make his way past on fresher tyres to snatch P3 in the closing stages. Bottas was not happy...
